So I've been awfully, awfully quiet and ridiculously busy and I'm finally getting close to the eve of all the excitement. I've been avoiding writing this because I've really enjoyed this blog and this final post is a bit sad for me, but this new venture is almost too exciting for words so I'll just end it here by saying I hope you come by to visit my new blog to see what Elisabeth is up to.

About a year ago (maybe longer) I bought several packages of "Art Parts" from Stamper's Anonymous. I was so excited and couldn't wait to make something. But I couldn't decide what. Then I didn't know what adhesive to use to hold the parts together. Then I couldn't decide what papers to use. What style I wanted... They were quickly becoming that thing I was hording, that thing I couldn't use up. They had a special place on my shelves. I would pack them up lovingly for every crop I went to, and returned them to their place on the shelves, unopened, after the crop. Well not this time! Finally I just broke down and said the time has come. I combined Studio 490 stamps (what else?) with some lovely paper from The Girl's Paperie, some Tim Holtz' doodads and came up with this. Most importantly I've finally broken through and I can't wait to get to my next "Art Parts" project!

Neglected Blog

I've been away from my blog too long and it's about time I posted something. You see it's not that I haven't wanted to , or didn't have anything to show or tell, but I've been super busy working on a huge project. One of those life altering type things - following my bliss, reaching for my dreams...you know the stuff that keeps you awake at night, wondering if you're doing the right thing. But more about that once I have some concrete information. For now I'll share a project that I just finished (and yes, it ties in with the bliss following) I found this wonderful hand carved frame at an antique market. I backed with some green burlap and accented it with torn and inked cork and wonderful linen trim from Tinsel Trading Company. The letters are Tim Holtz Grungeblocks (these are so fun to make!) I just can't wait till I can hang this in it's designated spot!

When I first saw the new {ippity} kit, "The Man" all I could think was...boy is that shirt going to be fun to paper piece! New Rubber!

Oh how I love it when I have brand new red rubber to play with...fresh, beautiful images to inspire makes me a happy girl! Last night I played in my craft room and decided to make something I never had before - a step card. Inspired by the center step card in the Splitcoast Resources, I pulled out three of the new ippity sets to create my card: I used two of the banners and a sentiment from "The Best", the flower is from "My True Joy" and the inside sentiment can be found in "Flowers+Friends=Priceless". I added some beautiful papers from The Girl's Paperie, some ric rac, a button and a couple dew drops to finish it off. I really enjoyed making this card, the scoring is easier than it looks, it fits perfectly in an A2 envelope and has a striking presentation. If you want to try one, you can find the instructions for it here. ( I changed up the measurement to make it A2 size - use 51/2" x 8 1/2" cardstock, score at 1", 2", 4 1/4" and 5 1?4")

My two favorite things!

There's a challenge over at All Things Unity that combines my two favorite things - Stamps and Food! I just couldn't resist :) I pulled out a set that I haven't given proper attention too...Farm Fresh, and used the thought bubble from the Sweet Thoughts of Spring set as a cloud to create this little farm scene with corn waving in the background. (One of my favorite summer time foods!) Using kraft paper as a background, I added a little strip of Cosmo Cricket paper, Copic markers to color in the barn and a few brads finish it off.

Hello everyone, thought I'd share a couple cards this beautiful Monday Morning - First is a card I created for one of the April ippity challenges - the color challenge to be exact. I used some scraps of 7 gypsies paper and stamps from the "Music of My Heart" set. (both the sentiment and the music notes background) I finished it off with some ribbon, brads and distress ink:

Next is a card I made for the challenge over at Just Us Girls. It's a technique challenge - emboss resist. I used several stamps from the {ippity} collection, distress inks for the background and a squirt of glimmer mist (which you can't really see in the pic, but I promise you it's there) A bit of fiber, some silver leafing and a button finish it of.

Way too long!

The last time I blogged I was running away to California to find some warm weather and today it looks the warm weather found me here in Jersey. I've been too long away and am super happy to join the {ippity} hop again! Today I have a couple things to share with you; first, an envelope book made with the LYB Twig line. I used the Bird stamp from the "Sing a New Song" set, and used different bird images from assorted sets on the pages.

Next is a card I created for the color challenge at the Play Date Cafe: pink, red and light blue. I used Pink Paislee paper and my favorite {ippity} sentiment, which can be found in the "So This Is Love" set. I finished it off with some baker's twine, a strip of pink cotton fabric, a button and some machine stitching. Although you can't tell in the picture, the red scalloped border is made with microfine glitter.

Warm weather, Here I come!

Hello everyone, so excited here in snowy New Jersey cause I'm packing for my trip to CHA. Just checked the weather in Los Angeles and it looks like it's gonna be in the mid 70's! Leaving tomorrow morning and will be in Sunny California for a whole week - OMGosh, I can't wait!!! Anyways....this week I have a couple cards to share with you: First off a Get Well card made based on this week's sketch at Get Sketchy. Stamps are from the "How You Doin?" and "Now and Always" sets. Basic Grey papers, a button, twine and a few Dew Drops finish it off:

Next is a card based on the first two weeks of the Ippity challenge combined: the sketch and color combination challenges. The sentiment is from the Regal Greetings set and the image is from the "Cherish Your Dreams" set. I also used "Dots For Sure" on the background. A felt border, ribbon and a button finish it off along with a bit of aging with Walnut stain distress ink.

Got Ribbon?

When I read this week's challenge over at "Wee Memories" I just knew I had to enter. The challenge was to create a project of your choice using ribbon. Well, I will admit to having a bit of a ribbon fetish (understatement) and was ready to jump at the chance to browse around in my ribbon box! I came up with a simple Valentine's day card using a scrap of Cosmo Cricket and I finally inked up the Here and Now" set from {ippity.} ( I just love that heart stamp!) I made a double bow from some soft seam binding ribbon to back the heart with and embellished with a button (another one of my addictions) and a bit of twine.

to share a card made for this week's CPS card sketch. I was inspired by this week's BSS Monday Idea, which was to stamp a silhouette stamp with a color other than black. I used Pink Paislee paper and added a bit of shimmer to the image with rock candy distress stickles. Stamps are (what else?!) from{ippity}.

And I'm not even gonna tell you how long it took to balance that card on this silly concave plate...Till next time...

Tuesday Trigger on a Sunday

When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger I was taken back to memories of some beautiful old lace that my grandmother had. Lace that my mother had hand appliquéd on my wedding dress, along with a scattering of seed pearls.

I knew exactly what I wanted to do and it came together quickly...which is a good thing as the challenge is due today! A bit of winter white cardstock, a pearl, some sheer ribbon and a touch of gold completed this card. The stamps are from {ippity} and I added a touch of vintage with Antique Linen distress ink.

Happy New Year everyone, it seems like it's been forever since I've blogged or even had some time to create something! Yesterday I finally stole away to my craft room and puttered around a bit - a little cleaning and organization and I even got a chance to make a few cards for challenges. They're all Birthday cards as I;m trying to replenish my stash for the coming year :)

The first card was made based on this week's sketch at "Just Us Girls". I used the "Party Hat Wishes" {ippity} set, some SEI papers and finished it off with some ribbon, dew drops and glitter:

Next is a color challenge from the Play Date Cafe, with shades of pink and beige. I stamped the background with Gurnsey Gingham, and used the "Cherish Your Dreams" and "Fall for You" sets. Ribbon and a button finish it off:

More SEI birthday paper, detailed with some May Arts trim, buttons and brads as well as some sepia accents on the chocolate of the cupcake and Rock candy stickles on the flowers. Hello again everyone it's monday! I love these couple days of the year cause every time I look at the clock I have more time than I thought I did! As I was looking through some files on my computer, I realized I never shared the place cards fro my daughter's wedding. We had a rustic feel with daisies in assorted jars and these love birds from the "Fall for You" ippity set just fit the bill perfectly!

First is a simple blocked card I made for an ad inspiration challenge I am hosting at Treasured Scrapbooking. Easy peasy 10 minute card! The sentiment is from the Music of my Heart ippity set and the little heart is from the House a Home ippity set. A button, baker's twine and a bit if stickles finish it off:

Next is another quick and simple card, but I was very happy with how it came out. I embossed the leaves from The Simple Things ippity set with distress embossing powders on a scrap of Basic Grey background paper. The sentiment is from The Music of My Heart ippity set. A gold mat, thin gold cord and brads finish it off. (This is one of those cases of: it looks way better in real life, LOL)

Not that this week has been horrible by any means, but there's something simply wonderful about Friday's - filled with the promise of the weekend, the thrill of being able to sleep in (even if you don't) and the freedom to do something just for you, without feeling too guilty! So here we are, another Friday, and another Friends with Flair hop! I have 2 cards to share today, both using this month's Unity KOTM. I just loved the cloud background and couldn't wait to ink it up!

I used some old My Mind's Eye paper (possibly Wild Asparagus) I had in my stash, added images from You Deserve , Bitty Pixie Paisley and A Moment in Time. A bit of ribbon, some dew drops and pink rhinestones finish it off.

Next is a card based on sketch # 87 at Card Patterns. Papers are from 7 Gypsies, images are from Fall For You , A Bit of Burlap (the texture on the pumpkin) and the House a Home set. Lace, grosgrain ribbon, a vintage button and some twine finish it off.

Elegant- so much so that I decided to finally ink up the chandelier in the "Regal Greetings" set. Hello ladies, Happy Friday! Another week gone by, another weekend upon us and time for another Friends with Flair hop! Have I mentioned that I just love our little Friday get togethers? Friends, Friday and Fall!

Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have some wonderful plans in mind for the weekend! Tomorrow is our annual pumpkin picking, apple cider drinking fall celebration day and I'm so excited! Hoping to get a bit of creating squeezed in sometime during the weekend too...I've been feeling a bit uninspired this week - must have overdone it at scrap camp last weekend! Today I have a couple {ippity} projects to share that I made at scrap camp. First is a CAS card I made using the monthly card kit from Treasured Scrapbooking. The paper is Pink Paislee, I have no idea where the cute little silver flowers are from and the flower centers are pom-poms cut from some trim. The sentiment is from the Music of my Heart set.

Next is a darling gift card holder. I stumbled upon this design while browsing blogs a few years ago, unfortunately I have no idea where so I can't give proper credit - but really what a cute idea is this! I used Echo Park paper and the tag is stamped with Dots For Sure and the sentiment is from the Fall for You set. I think I might be making a bunch of these for Christmas! Have I mentioned how much I adore my Bow-Easy???

Rest and relaxation

Nothing like getting away for some good old R&R to recharge your batteries...was hard coming back to reality! (my reality right now is a van load of stuff I have to unpack and put away...yuck!) So, during camp I worked on several projects that I printed up ahead of time, using some templates from "My Time Made Easy" - super fun, easy to follow directions and adorable designs, I had a blast making them! First is a tool box that can be used to hold a variety of things - how cute would this be as a scrappy present filled with adhesives, or other tools? (it's surprisingly sturdy!) I used the flower from the Now and Always set, and finished it up with some Echo Park paper and a felt border .

Next is a cute little gift box with a wavy, slip cover top - super cute design! I decorated it with some MME paper, lovely trim and a button and made a tag with the Happy Birthday stamp from Life's Little Moments.

Countdown to Camp!

Only three days left till camp - scrapbook camp that is! Thursday morning I'll be leaving for 4 fun filled days of scrapbooking, laughter, a viewing of "When Harry Met Sally" and very little sleep, I can't wait! I stayed up late last night (much to late!) working on a few cards to share today. The first card is for the color challenge at Play Date Cafe, and what a challenge it is! After 3 separate (unsuccessful) attempts I decided whimsical was the way to go with this color combo (not a direction I veer off in too often) and for the first time I inked up "A Little Buggy" . Phew, that was difficult!

The second card came a bit easier for me. I used this week's sketch at Card Patterns and this week's Color Throwdown of Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and River Rock. Patterned paper is from Echo Park, Stamps are from the set "You Deserve" and I finished it off with some stitching , pearls and trim.

Hello everyone, happy Friday!!! Welcome to another FWF! Yesterday evening I went up to my scrap room with full intentions to complete a brand new project for today, but unfortunately, I wasn't feeling it and now I have 4 different cards, partially completed, sitting on my desk, waiting for inspiration to strike. ah well, maybe the weekend will bring a bit of mojo! So, this morning, I scoured through my computer, looking for something I hadn't posted as yet on my blog. Here we go, First, a simple little card using the leaves from the "Where You Should be" set and the sentiment from the "Life's Little Moments" set. I was busy with my heat gun on this one, the sentiment, the bronze edge and the leaves are all embossed.

Next is a simple little CAS card with some Pebbles, Inc. paper, the sentiment from the "Now and Always" set and a glimmery sheer ribbon.

Happy Monday everyone... A quick post this week with a few cards to share. First is another card I created with this month's card kit from Treasured Scrapbooking. More soft and pretty pinks and greens, a sentiment from the "Fall For You" set, and a perfect little silk bow made using the Bow-Easy.

Next is a shabby little card made with the August card kit from Treasured Scrapbooking and a sentiment from the "Just Wanted to Say" set...I just love any chance I get to use my tiny attacher!

It's a blue day

and that's odd for me cause I usually don't scrap in blue, but both of todays cards are blue. First is a Holiday card using the "Kissmas & Mistletoe" set along with a sentiment from "Season of Joy":

Next is a card based on the Unity Addicts Bingo challenge. My choice was O down, so I had to use glitter, flowers, embossing, blue and an animal on my card. I used "The Simple Things" set, along with the butterfly from "Books a flutter" and one of the birds from "What Matters Most". Background papers are from October Afternoon and EchoPark. I embossed the butterfly Flower with a blue glitter embossing powder (technically, the glitter is purple and the embossing powder is blue)- and that took care of the challenge elements, LOL! Thanks Michelle for everything you've done for us {ippity} chicks, you were greatly appreciated and will be missed!

I wracked my brain for a witty, snazzy post title -something to make you chuckle, or at least smile a bit. Then I decided I would settle for something cutesy...still nothing. Ah well, maybe next week. Anyways, I have something way better for you all this week, but you're gonna have to get through the rest of this post to see it! So...Friends with Flair! Friday again and a wonderful busy full of creating weekend is in store for me! Can't think of a better way to start off a creative weekend than to soak in all the inspiration that FWF has to offer! I have a couple projects to share this week. First off I have a card made with the darling {ippity} set "House A Home" . Paper is from MME, border punch from Martha Stewart and those little houses are just too darn cute!

Next is a fold out photo wallet. Patterned paper from MME, stamps from the following {ippity} sets: "Life's little moments" and "Love in Return". The hearts are detailed with red glitter. Here's what it looks like closed:

Well, from the previous post you know I have the T!m Holtz wood grain embossing folder. What other folder comes in the package? The brick wall! At first I was like, okay, so I won't use the brick one, but I like the wood grain so much that I'm getting it anyways. But as I looked at that brick wall, it spoke to me. It said, "Halloween". I had to listen. So in grand Elisabeth fashion I was stuck in my work room, happily creating till 1:30 in the morning...on a work night. I used this week's "Just Us Girls" Sketch to create this all card stock, no patterned paper card. The background was embossed on grey cardstock, with pumice stone distress ink applied directly to the embossing folder. The hat was heat embossed on white card stock with Judikins Black Opal embossing powder, then detailed with a touch of distress ink. To create the pumpkin, I stamped the quilted background on white cardstock, overstamped the pumpkin with archival ink ,added a bit of shadowing and paper pieced the stem. The card was finished off with a couple dew drops, acrylic paint edging and a little gingham bow. (Honestly, how did I survive without my Bow-Easy before this?)

The stamps used were from the following {ippity} sets: "Fall For You", "Quotes a'la Happy" and "That's Creepy" and can be found for purchase on my Stamp{ippity} site.

Woodworking...

Well, it sure felt like it at least. I sat down to play with my new Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder last night ...simply awesome! This week's challenge over at the Ippity forum in Splitcoaststampers was for a fall card, so it seemed like the perfect excuse to try out the folder and play with some of my favorite color pallete. (Just a note, before I embossed, I took my Vintage Photo distress ink pad and smeared it all over the inside of the folder - both sides.) Now, the colors I used were chosen for me over at the Play Date Cafe. This week's challenge was to use Pumpkin, Plum and beige. The inspiration photo was off these beautiful old wooden wine barrels - which is what inspired me to use the embossing folder in the first place. The patterned paper I used was from Pink Paislee and Jenni Bowlin. The stamps were all {ippity, from the "Fall for You" and "House A Home" sets. I colored the leaves in with a Dove pen and my SU! markers. Buttons, trim, twine and a leaf pin are the finishing touches.

Hello everyone and happy Labor day, hope you're all enjoying the long weekend and that the weather in your part of the world has been as glorious as it is here! I have a few cards to share for today's {ippity} hop. First, a bit of Winter cheer, with this card made with the "Season of Joy" set. I used an EK success snowflake border punch and then used the little punched out snowflakes on the background. The stamped snowflakes are accented with vintage glass glitter:

The next card was created using the lovely vintage postcard stamp, "Thoughts From the Past" and a sentiment from the "So This is Love" set. Papers are from Scribble Scrabble and the twill is from Stampin Up! Kaiser pearls and a K and Co. button finish the card off:

A long weekend, the promise of cooler weather and a Friends with Flair Blog Hop...no better way to start the weekend! My blog has been sorely neglected for the past several weeks, but with vacation behind me I should be back on track! I have a few cards to share today. First off I finally inked up that fabulous manly {ippity} set, "Authentic man" I paired it with some Bella Boulevard papers, a couple banged up brads ( I knew I bought that hammer for a reason!) A blender pen and markers colored in the car and the headlights are accented with a yellow spica pen:

Next up is a simple one layer card on craft cardstock using several {ippity} sets: "So This is Love", "Life is the Journey" and "A Moment in Time". A bit of ink was sponged on the edges to soften things up and a thick bit of knotted twine finishes it off.

Good morning everyone, welcome to the {ippity} hop! We've had a rather abrupt change in the weather here in Jersey, cooler, rainy and when I went for a walk the other day I noticed leaves were starting to fall.Made me want to make this card:

It's based on this week's sketch from Unscripted Sketches, I used some October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket patterned paper and the Lovely "Fall for You" {ippity} set.

This next card is based on the challenge at Embellish Magazine, which called for a quirky, cutesy CAS card using the colors Sea Foam, craft, peach and cream. I usually don't do CAS much, or quirky or cutesy for that matter - but I was happy with the way this came out. I featured the awesome new set, "Quotes a'la Happy"

FWF and new ippity!

I've missed the past couple of FWF's and am so glad to be back! This monday I received my shipment of the new {ippity} summer release and have been playing with it every chance I get. Today I'm going to share a few cards I made for an upcoming "Floral Thank You" class I have been working on. The first card is all cardstock, background embossed with a Tim Holtz ebossing folder. I used every stamp in the "Pixie Paisley" set on this card. Now, I almost never work with purple, but I do like it paired up with lime green. Some Kaiser rhinestones,purple grosgrain, Crushed Olive distress ink and lime green zing embossing powder finish this off.

Next is a card made with the beautiful flower image from "So this is love" . A Nestie label, some My Mind's Eye paper, fiber and a bit of Art institute glitter finish this off. Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The card I have to share with you today uses three of the new sets: The sunshine from Quotes a'la Happy, the adorable Herringbone corner from "You Deserve..." and a sentiment from "So This is Love". Good morning everyone, another weekend gone another Monday upon us and it's time once again for another {ippity} hop! This week I'm going to share a layout that I made. Treasured Scrapbooking is sponsoring this week's August Thaw challenges at Willow Traders and I made this page based on the sketch challenge. Since I used papers from the as yet unreleased August card kit, you'll be getting a bit of a sneak peek :) I used the awesome journaling stamp from the "Love in Return" set, I just love that this image fits perfectly in the spellbinder's label! I also used a BSS challenge on this page, and ran a punched border through my paper crimper. I love the effect it made and I have a feeling I'm going to be using this technique on a bunch of cards! ( I knew there was a reason I hung on to that crimper!)

Now if you'll pardon me, I have a mailman to go stalk...rumor has it there's a big box of brand new rubbah from {ippity} due to be delivered today! Next up in the hop is Sarah!

It's a rainy Monday

here in Northern Jersey..pouring rain, thunder and lightning and I love it! Hopefully it will cool things down some, but I'm not overly optimistic. Well, Christmas card season started this week in the Ostrowski scraproom, and right away I reached for the "Season of Joy" kit to create this following card. The background is stamped with a SU! background stamp on green cardstock, then I embossed a Studio 490 splatter stamp with tacky powder and applied crystal loose glitter for a glimmery snowflake effect. Lots of distress inks to give this a worn look, a bit of krylon edging and tada...done!

Wow, that flew by fast, I can't believe it's time for another h{ippity} hop! I have a few cards to share today - the first one was based on this week's Unscripted Sketches challenge. I used 5 different paper manufacturers on this card: Jeni Bowlin, Basic Grey, Fancy Pants, Making Memories and My Minds Eye. Stamps are from the "Now and Always set as well as the "Just Wanted to Say" set. The ribbon came off a birthday present for my daughter's boyfriend.

This next card was based on my sketch at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff for this week. Papers are from Fancy Pants Designs. I did a delicate background on the label with the scroll from the "Now and Always" set, and used the leaves from that set as well. Once again , I used a sentiment from the "Just Wanted to Say" set - and I still haven't gotten bored with my new Sizzix rose die :)

Same Sketch, different card

Good morning everyone, welcome to Friday! Looking forward to another great FWF, a fantastic weekend and the promise of some cooler weather! The first card I have to share today is based on the same sketch as yesterday's card, but a totally different look. I used scraps of Jenni Bowlin, the "Faith Blooms" kit and the oh so wonderful "Just Wanted to Say" set. A hand doodled border around the image, a snippet of ribbon and those adorable tiny staples finish it off.

The second card is a super simple CAS card made for this week's Castastic challenge,which called for a Kraft-y Kreation. So - I wanted to see if my new sizzix Rose die would cut felt. It did. that made me happy: Sentiment from the "Just wanted to Say" set. again. Cause they fit on tiny tags so nicely.

a bit sketchy...

Sharing a card I made with this week's Buffalo Stamps and Stuff sketch. I finally got my hands on the sizzix dimensional rose die and I couldn't wait to play with it. So much in fact that I just grabbed whatever papers I had on hand - these BG papers have been sitting on my desk for weeks, getting added here and there to projects. The piece of ribbon was lying there already noted - a discard from some other card. The scroll stamp on the nestie shape is from Inkadinkadoo and the sentiment is from Melissa Francis. OK, you caught me, it wasn't just the rose die I had to play with, I got a T!m Holtz tiny attacher too! (OK, yes, you will probably be seeing these tiny staples all over my work for a while - ditto the roses) I just love how this card came out!

Hi everyone, don't you love it when you get an unexpected chance to play! I've just spent a few very enjoyable hours up in my craft room and thought I'd share a few cards that I made. First is a CAS card for this weeks Monday challenge at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. I used Blue, yellow and Cream, the color challenge at Castastic this week. Paper is from Graphic 45 and stamps are Studio 490.

Next is my card using this week's sketch at BSS, I had fun with all the layering of graphic 45 on this. The flower is paper pieced with Studio 490 stamps and more Graphic 45. (I just love this line of paper...sadly I've almost used up my stash...)

So glad you stopped by today! I have a little home decoration project to share with you all this morning. The other day, I was looking through a bag of goodies that I had brought home from CHA last January and found this make and take from the zutter booth. It was just the three panels and the connectors and I remember wondering if I would ever get around to making something of it. Well, it definitely spoke to me and it said, I should be a primitive wall hanging. So I broke out the "simply Home" set, did a bit of paper piecing, stitched up a felt heart, added some trim and put it all together:

Hiya everyone hope your week went smoothly! Today I have a card that was inspired by a challenge at my not so local stamping store, Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. The challenge was to use a background stamp (Hero Arts Dots) a die cut (Nestie label) and embossing (Cuttlebug script embossing folder) The bird and sentiment are both Unity stamps. The blingy brad has been in my stash for so long I can't remember where it came from - same as the ribbon. Lots of distress ink to soften the edges, and tada..all done!

Another Monday Hop!

Gee, I've been away from my blog for a week and I missed last week's hop and I must say I'm glad to be back! I had a wonderful trip to Buffalo, but I still feel like I'm trying to catch up on all the sleep I lost! I have a couple cards to share this week - First is a CAS card based on this week's sketch at Unscripted Sketches. I just stumbled upon

this blog several week's ago and I have to admit, I just adore their sketches! Anyways, I moved the blocks of the sketch around a bit, but you get the general feel of the sketch. I used a sentiment from The Simple Things set. (That's a Bit of Burlap on the sentiment also!) and the background blocks from the Fall for You Kit. A bit of hand stitching with some twine frame this card.

Next is a card I made based on my weekly sketch for Buffalo Stamps and Stuff. Papers are by Graphic 45, the cherry was paper pieced using an electronic die cutter and the phrase is from the Simple Things set. The beautiful delicate lace was bought at Buffalo Stamps last weekend - I just love the ribbons and trims Sharon picks out!

Friends with Flair Friday!

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another FWF! This week I have 2 cards to share with you. The first is a CAS card I made for the Castastic challenge this week, which was to use buttons. Super simple and quick, I used a strip of American Crafts patterned paper, some swiss dot embossed white cardstock, a bit of ribbon and a button. The sentiment is from the "Now and Always" {ippity} set. I added a bit of shading with some sponged distress inks. 5 minutes and it's done!

Next is a card based on this week's sketch (#58) at Unscripted sketches. I just loved this sketch and had a blast making this card. Paper is from October Afternoon, the frame is a Technique Tuesday tile that I covered with distress embossing powder. (2 coats) then sponged a bit of vintage photo here and there. I used 5 separate {ippity} kits on this card, can you tell which ones?

Otherwise known as the "Just Us Girls" Challenge. I used their sketch #36 as inspiration for this card. Paper from October Afternoon (love it!) Stamps are from the {ippity} set, Now and Always. The flower was stamped on grungepaper, colored with distress inks and layered. A bit of shimmer was added with some Rock Candy. The spiral accents were made with twine and some ribbon stiffner, then coiled. Thanks for stopping by, see you tomorrow!

Wow, where did the weekend go? I had a wonderful weekend cooking and exploring in Chelsea! I have a feeling this week is going to go by very slowly. I'm going back to Buffalo this coming weekend and I am sooooo excited. A weekend with my gals at Buffalo Stamps and Stuff and this guy...what could be better?! Well, time once again for another h{ippity} hop. I have 2 cards to share this week. The first is a simple CAS card made for the challenge at CAS-tastic, which called for a CAS card with the sentiment as the main focus. Of course I turned to the "Delightful Little Things" set! A bit of October Afternoon, a snippet of lace and twine and I called it done!

This next card was based on a sketch from Card Positioning Systems. More October Afternoon, the "Simple Things" set, a funky rikrak, and some heat embossing around the edges make up this card. The berries are droplets of glossy accents that I covered with loose art glitter while still wet.

Such a good kitchen day!

I've had such fun in my kitchen today I just had to share. Looking for new ways to serve salmon (hey - it's heart healthy you know!) I decided to make some fresh salmon burgers, seasoned with cumin and shallots. I topped them with a bit of caper and parsley aioli and served on grilled french bread. To go with it I made a wilted spinach salad with a citrus honey dressing and a spicy mango chutney - Oh my gosh, I was so happy with the way it came out!

While at the farmer's market today I found these beautiful pickles - nice and small and just perfect for canning. A bit of dill and garlic and some salt water brine...
and viola, tomorrow we will have half sour pickles! My daughter's out of town for the weekend so this will be a nice surprise for her when she gets home tomorrow evening as these are one of her favorite things! I'm anticipating that they'll be gone by Monday morning, LOL!

Anyways, kitchen's closed for the evening and I'm off to the craft room with Murphy at my side to create! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good Morning everyone, here to share a card I made last night with the beautiful "Simple Things" set from {ippity} I based it on this week's sketch over at Card Patterns. October Afternoon papers and some low key distressing gave this card just the feel I wanted. The ribbon is the last bits of an old favorite of mine from May Arts - it just has such a wonderful texture to it! And the button - oh I love buttons! Much like ribbons, I hoard buttons and often won't use a button because it's just too beautiful . I finally broke down and used this one. It's got an embossed wreath on it- so pretty! So glad for this extra day off, think I'm just gonna put my feet up and get some much needed rest and relaxation today! The wedding went off without a hitch, the ceremony was beautiful, the reception fantastic - I just can't say enough - I'm gonna have enough scrapbooking inspiration for many months to come! Can't wait to get my hands on all the pics! So, I thought I'd share the card I made for the wedding present for this week's {ippity} hop. Literature plays a very important role in my daughter's life and I just knew I had to use this adorable book stamp for her card. So excited for the weekend, going strawberry picking on Saturday, getting our first organic farm share of the season and will be putting up some strawberry jam...yum! The dress for the rehersal dinner is in da house (along with matching shoes) and I'm loving it! Still waiting on the dress for the actual wedding - any day now... The wedding present is on it's way, just got shippment confirmation - things are coming together! OK, enough babble...Friends with Flair!

I used three {ippity} stamp sets for this card, Season of Joy, Fall for You, and Simple Things. Paper is from My Mind's Eye and SU! cardstock. Accented with dew drops, ribbon, twine and a gold Krylon Leafing pen. I used sketch #64 from Card Patterns as my inspiration:

Hello everyone, hope your week is going well! Today I want to share a card I saw on this week's h{ippity} hop. I just love the look of this card that Kim made, there's just something really special about it! The flower border is darling, the distressing is perfect and those blocks with buttons balance out the white space perfectly - take a look: Endless Inkabilities.

Now, I've mentioned before that I'm definitely ribbon challenged...I love it, I hoard it, can't get enough of it...but I suck at bow tying. ...and a happy Monday to you! I woke up this morning determined to start off the week with a smile on my face and a jump in my step - I'm hoping it will carry over to the rest of the week :) Countdown to my daughter's wedding continues: T minus 13 days and counting. Still not sure what I'm wearing, but hoping it all gets ironed out this week! (or else I'm in trouble, LOL) Anyways, you're probably here for the h{ippity} hop, so let's get down to it. My first card showcases the Now and Always set, using the inside of one of the flowers with some paper piecing and the scroll stamp. The sentiment is from The Simple Things set. Paper is from My Mind's Eye and the card is finished off with a bit of glossy accents in the center of the flowers and a bit of silk ribbon.

The next card showcases the Season of Joy, A bit of Burlap and Regal Greetings sets. The paper is from the EverAfter line by Cosmo Cricket. I'm pretty sure the Bit of Burlap is going to become a staple on my craft table. I might as well just keep it mounted on it's own block and keep it out, considering how often i reach for it!

Spring 2010 {ippity} release is finally here!!!

oohoo! So excited to be a part of the new release hop. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. I have one project to show you, using stamps from 5 of the new sets. My apologies for the quality of the picture - that's what you get when you try to photograph projects at midnight! Stamps sets used include: Now & Always, The Simple Things, Books a Flutter ( I took the butterfly off the stack of books and attached it to my flower) A bit of Burlap and A Moment in Time. The wreath is made out of lunch bags, stamped with a bit of burlap and misted with perfect pearls.

Good Morning everyone, welcome to another {ippity} hop Monday! Had a super busy weekend - All day Saturday was devoted to Wedding running around stuff (pick up wedding dress, get shoes, work on favors...) Sunday was my son's 19th birthday and Mother's day...so I didn't get a chance to get up to my craft room to make this week's hop card until almost midnight! I played around with some October afternoon paper, (I just love this line!) added the birdies from the What Matter's Most set and a sentiment from the Music of My Heart set. A length of gingham, a straight pin, some distress ink and some stickles added the finishing touches.

Good Morning everyone, Hope you're all having a sunny, happy Friday! I was so excited to see this quote in the April Unity kit, as it is one of my all time favorites, so I decided to pair it with some other favorites: my favorite color (green) my Favorite embossing powder (which is also green - go figure), my favorite technique (torn distressed edges) and of course, my favorite ink (Ranger Distress ink), this time I used Pumice stone, which I think is fast becoming one of my favorites! The background paper is Everafter by Cosmo Cricket.

So I thought, since I spend a considerable amount of time browsing sites and admiring blogs I would start sharing some of the projects I come across that just stop me dead in my tracks, fingers suspended over the keyboard, with my mouth slightly open. You know- the ones that make you think, Damn, wish I could do that! The grand plan here is to make this a weekly thing, every Wednesday. I figure if I write the plan down here, there's a better chance I'll be able to stick with it...

Lightning, thunder, pouring rain and one very distressed golden retriever, poor thing! Hope your week is starting out with a bang! This week, my h{ippity} hop card is based on the color challenge over at "All Things Unity" along with the 3D flower challenge for ippity. I found this scrap of Scenic Route paper, left over from cutting out a nestability label and used the negative space on my card. The flower was made by layering punches, adding a bit of distress inks and curling up the petals. I white embossed the sentiment from the "Where You Should Be" set and added a bit of outlining with a white signo pen. Some
stitching and a bit of ribbon finished it off nicely.

I think I have a serious ribbon problem, I love it, I covet it, I purchase mass quantities...but then I don't use it cause it's too pretty and I don't want to use it all up. Well that's all going to change! (mainly because I'm running out of room) Starting with this card, I'm going to use up those ribbons I've been hoarding, waiting for the perfect project, not wanting to use it all up...because honestly, there's always more gorgeous ribbon to be found - starting with this gorgeous teal and brown confection (and yes, I designed the entire card around the ribbon) I started with the current sketch at Card positioning systems. I was just perfect for what I had in mind! The frame stamp is from the "regal Greetings" {ippity} set, (Which just so happens to be my featured set this week!) and I embossed it with my second favorite embossing powder, Verdigris by Ranger. A quick run through my cuttlebug with a nestie, a bit of distress inks and I was done. I have no intention of admitting how long it took me to tie the bow.

Ah, wish I could! But at least I have today's h{ippity} hop to brighten my day!!! This week I have an altered scallop box to share with you. I covered it with some pink paislee 365 and a bit of lace, then used a stamp from the Regal Greetings set to embellish the top. Added a knob, a bit of bling and now I have a box to hold yet more stuff. I'm thinking little snippets of ribbon - you know those little pieces of left overs that you hate to throw away, cause you just know they'll come in handy some day?

Welcome to another Unity Friends with Flair Friday, thanks for stopping by! A couple years ago I bought this cute shaped 8 x 8 Making Memories scrapbook. It's sat in my closet since then and every time I moved it to reach for something else I thought...one of these days I'm gonna do something with that. Well that day has finally come, I decided to fill it with pages specifically about my girls together. At first it was going to be a present for Monika, but then I realized I would have to make another one for Magda, so I just decided to make it for myself...they can fight over who gets it (or gets stuck with it!) later. This Christmas, I got some adorable pictures of the girls and their boyfriends. Her are a couple double page 8x8 spreads I made for my book, using the Kissmas and Mistletoe set from {ippity}

The challenge was simply to use buttons on our cards...a wonderful challenge for me cause I'll take any excuse to reach for my beloved button jar! Hope you all had a wonderful Easter, Happy Dyngus Day everyone!!! I was so sad to miss last week's {ippity}hop, I had been to a 4 day ScrapCamp get away that weekend with no internet connection and it was too late to sign up by the time I got home! So much new stuff to share from the weekend, I think I'm going to spread the love around a bit and share a few things here and there throughout the week. Today I have a card and a layout to share. First, here's a page I made using the journaling block from the "love in return" set...I just love that it fits so perfectly in this nestie! After a beautiful, sunny weekend in the 70's I woke up this morning to grey skies and the threat of rain..but it's still warm!!! Spring is definitely here in Northern Jersey, my first crocus bloomed yesterday!! But enough weather talk, you're here for the {ippity} hop! I have several projects to share today, first an all occasion card using the "what matters most" set with a sentiment from the "Just wanted to say" set. Sparkle was added with Spica pens:

Hi everyone welcome to the weekly H{ippity}Hop! This week, I've been working on an upcoming class, focused on creating backgrounds - in other words, no patterned paper, just plain old cardstock. First off I used the "Moonbeam and Heartstrings" set to create these 2 cards.

I used my favorite sentiment from "Regal Greetings" on this card:

Hard to tell in the picture, but this final card's background is a layering of different inks, stamps, perfect pearls and a Krylon silver leafing pen. The sentiment is from the oh so versatile (and often used!) "Just Wanted to Say" set:
