Woodworking...

Well, it sure felt like it at least.  I sat down to play with my new Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder last night ...simply awesome!   This week's challenge over at the Ippity forum in Splitcoaststampers was for a fall card, so it seemed like the perfect excuse to try out the folder and play with some of my favorite color pallete.  (Just a note, before I embossed, I took my Vintage Photo distress ink pad and smeared it all over the inside of the folder - both sides.)  Now, the colors I used were chosen for me over at the Play Date Cafe.   This week's challenge was to use Pumpkin, Plum and beige.  The inspiration photo was off these beautiful old wooden wine barrels - which is what inspired me to use the embossing folder in the first place.  The patterned paper I used was from Pink Paislee and Jenni Bowlin.  The stamps were all {ippity, from the "Fall for You" and "House A Home"   sets.  I colored the leaves in with a Dove pen and my SU! markers.  Buttons, trim, twine and a leaf pin are the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful week!  Thanks for your visit and kind comments, they really mean so much to me!

Hi Elisabeth,

What a gorgeous card! Love all the matching embellies, they really finish it and that embossing folder is so perfect for this card!! The leafs are pretty and I love the way you attached them to the card. I just ordered that set myself yesterday and can't wait for it to reach me! ;-) Fabulous work!
